Asha is passionate about traditional nutrition principles, eating as our ancestors did. She believes that implementing these principles as well as eating seasonally from local farms with regenerative practices provides the highest level of benefit to the individual as well as the community. She believes that remembering these indigenous practices of eating and living will aid in restoring the imbalances in the earth and all of her inhabitants.

Asha is a lover of the earth. Her ancestors come from Africa, India, Colombia, and various countries in Europe. She is a wife. She is the mother of four children. She was called to birth work after the traumatic birth of her first son. Since then she has received her certification with The Center for Sacred Window Studies as an Ayurvedic Postpartum Caregiver. She has also learned Anishinaabe and Mexica traditional postpartum teachings with Raeanne Madison of the Postpartum Healing Lodge. She has also most recently finished La Cermonia de Parto (The Ceremony of Birth) course with Montse Olmos, a traditional Nahuatl and Totonaca (Indigenous Mexica) birth companion. Her goal is to nourish postpartum mothers as well as help them to nourish themselves. Mothers who are well create families and communities who are well. She believes that healing mothers is at the center of healing ourselves and our Mother Earth.
